• Conversely, if the passenger switches the flight to a lower class, the remaining amount will be refunded to the passenger as a travel credit.

4. If the standby flight you want to fly in departs in less than 30 minutes, you won’t be able to change the flight.

Same-day standby with Hawaiian Airlines

As per the change flight feature, before proceeding to request the same-day standby flight, passengers must consider the below-mentioned conditions:

Baggage to check-in 

1. Passengers with baggage to check in must visit the customer service desk located in the airport lobby. 
2. Inform the agent that you want a standby flight for an earlier Neighbor Island flight.
3. Ensure that your baggage is tagged with your requested standby flight information. 
4. If there is availability on the flight, then the agent will keep your confirmed reservation and add your name to the standby list of the earlier flight.
5. You can head over to the standby flight’s gate.

Without Baggage 

1. Complete the check-in process using web check-in, the kiosk at the airport, or with an airport customer service agent.
2. If you used our web check-in or kiosk to check in, please approach a customer service agent from Hawaiian Airlines at the airport before going through security. Let them know you would like to be on standby for an earlier Neighbor Island flight.
3. Passengers completing check-in at Honolulu International Airport can now go through security and notify the service podium agent located by Gate 56.
4.  If you’ve requested, Hawaiian Airlines will retain your original confirmed flight reservation and add your name(s) to the standby list for an earlier flight.
