What are the key points of Austrian Airlines Cancellation Policy?

Before we delve into the airline’s cancellation policy, there are certain key points a passenger must abide by to make the cancellation policy hassle-free.

  • Passengers have flexibility when booking flights. They can cancel any valid ticket for free within 24 hours of booking.
  • The cancellation policy can only be followed by the passenger purchasing fares directly from the reservation channels of the airline. For third-party bookings, the third-party agent is reliable for cancelling the booked flights.
  • Make sure to book your tickets at least 7 days before your flight. This gives the airline enough time to handle any changes.
  • The airline suggests the passenger cancel the ticket booking from the same source or channel they used for booking.
  • The air carrier doesn’t provide any discount for babies or pets regarding cancellation fees. You’ll need to pay the full amount to get your refund.
  • The airline’s cancellation policy varies depending on the type of fare provided by the airline and the time of flight cancellation.
  • The airline only accepts the cancellation requests made 2 hours before the scheduled flight’s departure.
  • Cancellations involving children or infants will incur charges based on the discounted fare, which includes taxes and additional fees. Refunds will not be provided for any unused portions of the journey.
  • It’s important to note that there are no extra discounts specifically for children or infants regarding Austrian Airlines Cancellation fees.
  • The payment for cancellation fees can only be made using the approved payment methods. Unfortunately, no reductions will be applied to these cancellation charges.
  • Any reservations made for extra services, such as transporting pets or sports equipment, are non-refundable.
  • The airline advises the passenger to use the purchase of travel cancellation insurance. You can visit the European Travel Insurance link to learn more about it.
